About
Early Days
I began racing production bikes in 1982 and have raced various bikes from Yamaha 250LC's to Suzuki GSXR750's, in open class, endurance, club
and national races with various successes, winning in each class at one time or another. I won the Bantam open 2-stroke championship on a
production RG500 Gamma in 1987, and finished in 3rd place in the 6 hour endurance race at Snetterton in the 600 Supersport class in 1993.
SuperMono
Since 1996 I have been racing in Europe in the Supermono series at various circuits including Brno in the
Czech Republic, Monza, Italy and Albecete in Spain, with a Harris framed Suzuki DR750 which I built in
1992/93.
In 1998 I bought the John Dieterman KTM, one of only two in existence, it is the only Supermono to have
won a combined twins/singles race out-right.
It also proved itself to be fast enough to reach fourth in the European Supermono race at Donington Park that same year, only just missing out on
the rostrum in my first race on the bike.
Plus a number of top six finishes, including top British rider in Germany at the Nurburgring, finally ending the year in seventh place in the European
Championship - despite only finishing five out of eight races.
I continued to compete through the 2000’s in both the British and European Championships of the Supermono class. However, this competition
series has now been wound down.
